- During the week of 3rd August, Teej celebrations are in full swing at the City Palace, especially in the Sarvato Bhadra, where visitors can view and touch a special display about the festival. There is also an opportunity to decorate your palms with henna, and to glimpse the traditional Teej procession from the City Palace.
- Please join us on Wednesday 21st August 2019 in celebrating Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II’s 109th birth anniversary. We will mark the occasion with a floral tribute at the statue of the late Maharaja at Ram Niwas Bagh.

- The Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum will join museums around the world in celebrating International Museum Day, which falls on 18th May. The theme this year is “Museums as Cultural Hubs: The future of tradition”, reflecting the fact museums have become cultural hubs functioning as platforms where creativity combines with knowledge and where visitors can also co-create, share and interact. - We celebrated our first major festival for the year, Makar Sankranti, also known by other names across India. Other celebrations included the 352nd birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singhji, and the Sawai Madhopur Utsav.

- On the eve of India’s 70th Independence Day, Siddhant Shah was awarded one of three National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People – Mphasis Universal Design Awards in the Working Professionals category, based on work that he did with us over a year ago, such as our Braille guidebook and tactile aids. - Our annual Summer Camp for all ages runs from 22nd May – 21st June. Registrations open on 15th May and are on a first-come-first serve basis.

- We are delighted to be a venue for the 2017 edition of JaipurPhoto, the open-air travel photography festival that is held every February in Jaipur. This year’s theme is ‘Wanderlust’, exploring how photographers respond to new places during their travels. We hope you managed to catch it, but if not, check back at the same time next year!

- The City Palace and the Museum were at the Jaipur Literature Festival 2017 with two sessions by our consultant directors. Dr Giles Tillotson chaired a panel on ‘The Camera in Jaipur’ with Rahaab Allana from the Alkazi Collection of Photography (which has a wide-ranging collection of histpric photographs from the subcontinent and wider region), and Sudhir Kasliwal, a long-term resident and photographic chronicler of Jaipur and other places.
